# Install Demo & Activate Theme

How to install Demo & Activate Theme

2. Upload zip file in **Appearance** → **Themes** 
3. Install the theme using the Install Wizard
4. Activate the theme using your purchase code, then import the demo.

## Step 1: Download & Unzip The Package

* &#x20;After you purchase the theme, please download the package [**HERE** ](https://themeforest.net/downloads)
* Click the button "**Download**" → **All files & documentation**
* Please **extract** the download package which you just downloaded from Theme Forest
* The installation file is in the "**Theme**" folder

## Step 2: Upload Theme Source

* Go to **Admin** → **Appearance** → **Themes** → Click the **"Add New Theme**" Button → and Upload the zip file (installation file).
* After installation is complete, activate the Sumilux Theme and proceed with the installation steps outlined in the **Install Wizard**.

In the "**Import Content**" step, please pay attention: When creating a website from scratch, you should import "**Extra Data**"; otherwise, import only "**Essential**".  <mark style="color:green;">**This is an option you need to be aware of**</mark>. If you choose the "**Essential"** option, your website will be missing product data and some pages such as cart, about us, contact us...etc

## Step 3: Import Demos

* To import Demo data, you must activate the theme license! Go to **Admin** → **Rising Bamboo** → **Theme License** → Enter your [**Purchase Code**](/wp-sumilux/installation/where-is-my-purchase-code.md) and click the "**Active Now**" button
* Go to **Admin** → **Rising Bamboo** → **Import Demo Data** → Select the demo that suits you and click on the "**Import Demo**" button.

If you encounter an error message: "<mark style="color:orange;">**Unable to connect to the Rising Bamboo API. Please try again or contact theme author**</mark>" please check your server connection. Our API server is located in **Singapore**, and your server may be blocking connections to Singapore or to other Asian countries. Please check and unblock the connection, and this should resolve the issue.
